The official size, weight, material, and fill of a regulation cornhole bag — explained.
According to the American Cornhole Association (ACA), cornhole bags must be a minimum of 6 inches by 6 inches, though some run as large as 8 inches by 8 inches. They should always be square. Size comes down to preference — smaller bags are easier to grip for smaller hands — but every bag in your set should weigh about the same.
Official cornhole bags weigh between 14 and 16 ounces. The ACA also requires that bags be stitched together with a quarter-inch, double-stitched seam so the fill stays put.
The standard fabric is duck cloth — a durable, thick, canvas-like material that resists wear and tear. It comes in many colors, so teams can use distinct colors for easy scoring.
The fill is what gives a bag its weight. Players can choose traditional corn or plastic resin pellets; we fill all of our bags with plastic resin for durability and water resistance.
Cornhole bags can be personalized with custom embroidery, logos, glow-in-the-dark fabric, and more — so your set looks exactly the way you want.
